In a Zi Wei Dou Shu chart, it is illustrated with 12 palaces which represents our different aspects and attitudes towards our life. This chart further decodes on how an individual interact with the time and space. This is how the 12 palaces is designed to decode on how one react. 

Natal Chart

This natal chart is being determined from the moment you took the first breath at your birth. This unique chart belongs exclusively to you as it showed your personality, innate potential and attitudes towards other aspects of life. This chart will not change since it represents you as the person and your core values.

10 Year Period Chart

The 10-year luck period play an important role in Zi Wei Dou Shu chart reading and the periods are all in blocks of 10 years.  If you have your chart plotted, this information will be indicated at the bottom of each palace. Based on the above illustrated chart, you can see that this owner of the chart start the luck period from 5-14 (This age is based on one’s lunar age which is usually older by 1 year) and the rest will continue to be plotted in a block of 10 years for the subsequent palace either anti-clockwise or clockwise. In general, this luck period reflect an individual’s luck or the event he/she will experience during this time frame. 

Have you ever sit back and think about how you are as a person 10 years ago? You might notice that you are a totally different changed person today as compared to 10 years ago. That is because people can change their mindset as time passes and it can be contributed by many external factors, for example, the acquaintances you get to know, financial status, broken relationship and many more. All these accumulative effects that changes our mindset and values can affect our decision-making and as a result yield a different outcome. Annual Chart

As the name suggest, this chart disclose how one’s luck is going to be in the particular year. It also represents the external influences or surrounding environment that is going to affect one’s luck too. Even though everyone is experiencing the same time period, but the different stars combinations in the chart may affect everyone differently. For example in this Covid-19 pandemic situation, there are some businesses that prosper, while some went bust in the same space.

This represents more like the external influences or surrounding environment affects on the person’s fate. Thus, this annual chart can only represents the external factor that everyone may experience the same time period, however with individual different stars combinations, it may affect everyone differently in person.

Annual Chart

Beside the above 3 most commonly used chart (Natal/10 years/annual), there are also monthly or daily chart, however these chart is used for special needs like finding favorable day for interviews or negotiations to increase the chance of success.

Different Charts Usage

As you can see, there are different layers of charts and they are closely interconnected with one another. Therefore, in order to have a more accurate reading, the practitioner must analyze all charts concurrently to have a holistic reading of one’s life and destiny.
